This Market is a treat. All sorts of breads, meats, cheeses, artisanal products. It’s outdoors at Market Square every Sunday. When the cooler weather hits, the Market moves inside. Last year it was at the Falstaf Centre.

Voting Begins

Method of Voting: Internet or Telephone

Eligible electors will be able to vote from the privacy of their own home using their computer, laptop, tablet, smart phone, or touchtone telephone.

If you do not have access to a computer but would like to vote by internet you can visit the Voter Help Centre at the Stratford Rotary Complex, 353 McCarthy Road West. Election Officials and computers will be available for electors that require assistance with electronic voting or wish to come out to vote during the following:

Saturday, October 20 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Sunday, October 21 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Monday, October 22 10:00 am to 8:00 pm

 

The Stratford Public library has also dedicated a couple of their computers for voting so eligible electors can also vote by internet during their business hours.

During October 12 to 22, 2018, staff are available to respond to questions from electors. The number to call is 519-271-0250 ext. 237.

October 4, 2018, Stratford Municipal Candidates' Debate

In keeping with the Stratford & District Chamber of Commerce’s objective to promote good government and sound legislation at all levels of government, the Chamber will be hosting a Stratford Municipal Candidate’s Debate for the upcoming municipal election with a goal to:
Focus candidates on issues important to the business community
Inform voters and our members
Promote transparency and accountability among elected officials.
Doors open at 5:30 for a meet and greet with the candidates.The Mayoral candidates will debate from 6:30-7:30, followed by a debate by the Councillor candidates from 7:30-9:30.Eddie Matthews, morning show host of 107.1 Juice FM, will be the moderator for the evening. Matthews is a well known and trusted voice in our local community. We are confident in his ability to moderate the debate in a way that is fair and respectful to all candidates.

There is no advance registration for this event. It is open to all, but space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis in the auditorium of Stratford Rotary Complex, 353 McCarthy Road.

Stratford Chocolate Trail

I love chocolate and so, I include this treat! A must for tourists, but why not us too! It’s a self guided tour that takes you to our local candy makers and bakers. The Stratford Tourism Office sells Chocolate Trail passes.

Passes are $30 + taxes

Tues - Fri 9am- 5pm

Sat 10am-4pm

Sun 10am-2pm except for October 8th 10am-4pm.

Walk for Autism

10th Annual Walk for Autism hosted by Autism Ontario – Huron Perth Chapter held at Upper Queens Park Pavilion. Registration starts at 10:30 am, Walk at 11 a.m. , pizza lunch and entertainment by “Yeager” and fun in the Rolling Video Bus at noon. All donations stay in our area to help support children and adults with autism. Our chapter executive are 100% volunteers.

Stratford Dragon Boat Races

Setup Friday or early Saturday. Check in with Rotary Personnel on Friday for a place to setup.

YOUR CAR WILL NOT BE ALLOWED AT THE DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL! There is no on site parking.

All streets will be closed and barricaded between Ontario St to Lakeside Drive and Nile St. to Queen St. on September 15 from 6:15 a.m. until 9 p.m. No cars will be permitted access to this area unless you live in this area. If area residents have a concern, they are requested to contact the Stratford Police Department.

Sites can also be set up on Friday but teams are requested to check in with Rotary personnel before erecting your tent.

Parking for this event will be at the Rotary Complex.  A shuttle service will be available from 6:15 a.m. until 9 pm on Sept. 15 for participants and spectators.
